Our Inception

In the year 2003, a few like-minded individuals with a deep-rooted love for mountains got together. They pondered over the fate of these mountains and deliberated over the imminent ecological catastrophe, which was just waiting to be unleashed on the Himalayan region. Specifically the Indian Himalaya. Out of this meeting was born a strong conviction that NOW’s the time for Concerted action…if the scourge of environmental degradation (which is all set to devour this region of immense but fragile natural beauty), is to be stopped in its tracks.

Mountain Ecosystem Rejuvenation Urge was born on the 14th of February – 2003, to facilitate such 'Concerted Action', which would assist in the preservation and rejuvenation of ‘Indian Mountain Ecosystems’
